Airvolution, AAR’s repair cycle management application and one among its digital offerings, has attracted the attention of operators due to its capability to minimize turnaround time and control costs. The platform was released earlier this year.
The MRO, which has seen plenty of success in recent months in terms of awards and new contracts, is highlighting Airvolution at MRO Americas in Atlanta. The The cloud-based, self-service system, which has a comprehensive, intuitive user interface, is applicable for a variety of commercial, business and military aircraft, both fixed and rotary wing.
Airvolution, which combines the best of AAR’s Digital Services and Airinmar’s 30-plus years of expertise in repair cycle management, uses Integrated analytics and business intelligence tools to bring actionable data to the point of use. Users of the system will be able to process quotes, manage suppliers and contracts, capture warranty claims, and ensure competitive pricing, using automated price checks leveraging historical and market benchmarks. Airinmar, AAR’s component repair division, provides full-service support, ongoing or on an ad-hoc basis.
While the U.S. Department of State awarded AAR a new Costa Rican site under the Worldwide Aviation Support Services program, the U.S. the Air Force signed a $10.8 million contract with the company for the production of 463L cargo pallets in Cadillac, Michigan. The MRO also received JCAB approval, thus allowing it to serve Japanese airlines that require repair stations to provide JCAB-authorized release certificates.
AAR’s Miami facility was recently in the news for winning the 2019 Top Shop Award for Best Landing Gear Repair and the 2019 Top Shop Award for Best Wheels and Brake Repair. The company was also recognized as the “Best Aircraft Components Repair & Maintenance Company 2019” according to an International Transport News poll while UK leisure airline Jet2.com recognized AAR for its Amsterdam-based component repair services, including overhaul and reliability engineering. AAR’s OEM Solutions – Government group, which distributes a line of LORD engine mounts, APU mounts and equipment isolators for military fixed- and rotor-wing aircraft, received LORD Corporation’s 2018 Distributor of the Year award.
The company has also been trying to address the shortage of qualified aviation mechanics through its “EAGLE Pathways” program. . Since October last year, AAR has established EAGLE Career Pathway partnerships with colleges in Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and Minnesota.
