The Corsican carrier has again entrusted support for CFM56-5B power plants equipping its fleet of A320s to AFI KLM E&M expertise.
AFI KLM E&M and Air Corsica have concluded a support contract, covering on-wing/on-site support, shop visit scheduling and execution as well as access to spare engines.
The two companies have signed several other agreements recently.
Over the years, AFI KLM E&M has built up expertise on the entire CFM56-5 family as the leading shop for maintaining this engine type on behalf of its AIR FRANCE parent, the launch airline for the A320. Its expertise covers both the technical and operational aspects of CFM56-5 maintenance, enabling AFI KLM E&M to meet the specific requirements of aircraft operators, especially as regards engine availability, offering ad hoc solutions such as the provision of spare engines.
“AFI KLM E&M’s know-how and experience on availability-related services are among the most extensive on the market, especially when it comes to on-wing/on-site work. For us, these are reassuring guarantees in terms of our operational continuity. And AFI KLM E&M has been a key maintenance operator for us for many years,” said Luc Guiomar, Air Corsica’s VP Maintenance & Engineering.
Fabrice Defrance, Senior VP Commercial AFI KLM E&M, added, “We are honored and delighted that Air Corsica continues to put its trust in AFI KLM E&M’s MRO services. In seeking to offer the most efficient, responsive service based on tailor-made solutions at competitive rates, we are able to provide Air Corsica with very high-level support, to match their requirements as closely as possible, in line with our promises of quality and Adaptiveness.”
