Egypt to Host First Defence Expo in 2018

Egypt will be hosting its first international defence exhibition in 2018, bringing together key defence and security players from the region and across the world.

EDEX 2018 will take place on 3-5 December 2018 at Egypt International Exhibition Centre, a brand-new exhibition centre opening in Cairo. The inaugural event is likely to have over 300 companies exhibiting hardware covering land, sea and air. Over 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the event, for which Asian Defence Technology is the Official Show Daily Producer.

The announcement was made by Major General Mohsen Abdel Nabi, Chairman of the Armed Forces Moral Affairs Department, “This will be the first event of its kind in Egypt, covering air, land and sea. We plan to make EDEX the number one event in the Middle East region. The event will bring the international defence industry to Egypt to demonstrate their capabilities and also offer the Egyptian Military Production companies a platform to showcase their equipment and services to other militaries from around the world. We look forward to welcoming visitors, militaries and industry Egypt for EDEX in 2018.”

The event is fully supported by Egyptian Armed Forces and will be organised by Clarion Events, the largest organiser of defence & security events in the world, with over 200 other events across different sectors. Tim Porter, Managing Director, Clarion Defence & Security presented an overview of EDEX to the attendees. The briefing outlined the exhibition and how industry and military will be offered the best possible opportunities at EDEX 2018, as well as some of the highlights that will be featured at the event.

Over 300 international defence & security manufacturers are expected to take part as exhibitors and over 10000 visitors are projected to attend the exhibition across three days.

The exhibition will also feature a conference program and a fully-hosted international military VIP Delegation Programme.
