Embraer will be showcasing its new multi-mission, medium-lift transport KC-390 at Fidae 2018 , which takes place in Santiago, Chile, from April 3-8,.
The KC-390 is designed to set new standards in the medium life aircraft category, while presenting the lowest life-cycle cost in the market and the ability to perform multiple missions such as transport and airdrop of troops and cargo, search and rescue (SAR), medical evacuation, aerial refueling (fixed and rotary wing) and firefighting, among others.
Embraer achieved KC-390´s initial operational capability declaration (IOC) in December, 2017 and expects to receive the certification of the final operational capability (FOC) in the second half of 2018. Also being showcased at Fidae is the A-29 Super Tucano, one of the best light attack and close air support aircraft in the market. The Super Tucano is capable of operating from unimproved runways and has been selected by 14 Air Forces around the world, including the U.S. Air Force, which has selected the aircraft for its Light Air Support program.
