New Indonesian Cruise Missile Prototype Displayed

: Nov 8, 2018 - : 8:07 pm

A model of a new medium range surface to surface strategic cruise missile called as the Rudal Petir Tahap II-IV, is on display at an Indonesian Ministry of Defence pavilion at the ongoing show being held in Jakarta.

The missile development programme appears to be in a very initial stage, though it appears that trials with models of the design have been completed. The missile is being designed to destroy static targets and will have a range less than 100 km. Guidance will be via inertial navigation system and GPS waypoints.

The design is a modification of the original Rudal Petir target drone, which weighed 20 kg and had a range of 45 km.
