Rafael, Embraer Discussing ISR Package For KC-390

Rafael is enhancing its cooperation with aircraft manufacturers that want to offer them with the Israeli company’s systems.

Currently Rafael and Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer,  are discussing equipping the Brazilian company’s KC-390 aircraft with the Israeli company’s Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems.

The KC-390 is a new generation multi-mission aircraft which according to the Brazilian company, combines highly flexible platform with the lowest life cycle cost in the medium airlift market.

Embraer says that the KC-390 is capable of transporting and launching cargo and troops and performing a wide array of missions: medical evacuation, search and rescue, humanitarian search and rescue, humanitarian aerial refueling (fighters and helicopters), aerial firefighting and assistance.

According to Rafael the issue is being discussed with the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer “we offer our combat proven line of intelligence and surveillance systems that can be fitted to this transport aircraft to give it another operational dimension” A company source said.
