‘Black Eagles’ ng South Korea, Lalahok sa Friendship Flight sa Pilipinas

Muling binigyang-diin ang lumalakas na ugnayang panseguridad ng Pilipinas at South Korea matapos kumpirmahin na magsasagawa ang dalawang bansa ng “Friendship Flight” sa susunod na linggo.

Sa pahayag na inilabas ng PAF nitong Miyerkules, sinabi na ang “Black Eagles” Team ng Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) — na gumagamit ng T-50B aircraft — ay magsasagawa ng flight kasama ang FA-50PH fighter jets ng Pilipinas sa himpapawid ng Clark Air Base sa Angeles City, Pampanga sa darating na Pebrero 23.

Ang T-50B na ginagamit ng “Black Eagles” ay aerobatic version ng Mach 1.5-capable FA-50PH na kasalukuyang ginagamit ng PAF bilang mga fighter jet nito.

Parehong gawa ng Korea Aerospace Industries ang dalawang eroplano. Mula rito, kumuha ang PAF ng unang 12 FA-50PHs at sinundan pa ng ikalawang batch na 12 mas pinahusay na FA-50 aircraft.

Ayon sa PAF, layunin ng aktibidad na palakasin ang bilateral cooperation, pagbutihin ang interoperability, at ipakita ang patuloy na commitment ng dalawang air force sa pagpapalalim ng ugnayang panseguridad.

Ang “Black Eagles,” na kilala rin bilang 53rd Air Demonstration Group, ay itinatag noong Disyembre 12, 1994, at unang gumamit ng anim na Cessna A-37B “Dragonfly” aircraft.

Pansamantala itong nabuwag matapos ang 2007 Seoul Air Show ngunit muling binuo noong 2010 kasunod ng pagdating ng kanilang bagong T-50B aircraft.
