Dassault Aviation and Reliance Aerostructure Ltd (RAL), a subsidiary of Reliance Infrastructure, unveiled a strategic partnership to manufacture Falcon 2000 business jets in India—marking the first time Dassault will produce the aircraft outside France.
The initiative signals a major leap for India’s aerospace ambitions, positioning the country among the elite group of nations—alongside the United States, France, Canada, and Brazil—that manufacture high-end business jets.
The joint venture, Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited (DRAL), will establish a state-of-the-art final assembly line for Falcon 2000 aircraft at its existing facility in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The site will also evolve into a global Center of Excellence (CoE) for Dassault’s Falcon series, including the larger Falcon 6X and 8X aircraft.
“This new agreement, which makes DRAL the first Falcon assembly center outside France, illustrates our strong commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative,” said Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation. “It marks the ramp-up of DRAL and our long-term vision of integrating India into our global aerospace supply chain.”
Anil D. Ambani, Founder Chairman of Reliance Group, hailed the partnership as a turning point: “The ‘Made in India’ Falcon 2000 will stand as a proud symbol of our nation’s capability in high-precision manufacturing and global aerospace contribution. This collaboration is a tribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
As part of the agreement, DRAL will not only assemble Falcon 2000 jets but also take over the assembly of front sections of the Falcon 8X and 6X, along with the wings and fuselage of the Falcon 2000. The first fully assembled ‘Made in India’ Falcon 2000 is expected to take flight by 2028.
The move reflects the growing global demand for Dassault’s Falcon jets and the increasing importance of the Indian market, where Falcon aircraft already enjoy a strong presence in the corporate and charter segments.
