India Strikes Terror Camps in Pakistan

In the wee hours of May 7, India executed a coordinated, multi-branch military operation named Operation Sindoor, striking nine terrorist-linked locations across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Using missiles such as SCALP and HAMMER, made by the French MBDA and Safran respectively, Rafale fighter jets of the Indian Air Force  targeted some of the most significant and long-standing terrorist training hubs in the region.

The operation started at 1:05 AM and lasted till 1:30 AM. No military establishments were targeted. About 80 terrorists are reported killed in the attack.
>> Hours after India conducted a series of strikes on terror sites , the government said that the hits had destroyed the camp where terrorists Ajmal Kasab and David Headley had trained.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh briefed the media. They said that the strikes were measured and non-escalatory in nature and was aimed at dismantling the terror infrastructure. “Operation Sindoor was launched to deliver justice to the victims of Pahalgam,” they said.

The operation came in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 civilians, most of them tourists, were killed. The Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) group has been linked to the attack. India’s retaliatory strike was designed to dismantle key logistical, operational, and training infrastructure used by LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizbul Mujahideen, and other affiliated networks.
