IndiGo has signed an agreement with Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) to establish a large-scale Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, its third in the country.

According to the MoU, BIAL will allocate about 31 acres of land to IndiGo for the development of a dedicated MRO facility to support the airline’s  growing fleet of over 400 aircraft. The proposed facility will  handle both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft.

“This marks a strategic step for IndiGo in expanding its MRO capabilities. Our collaboration with BIAL is aimed at supporting long-term aviation growth and connectivity,” said Pieter Elbers, Chief Executive Officer of IndiGo.

IndiGo already operates MRO facilities in Delhi and Bengaluru. The new facility will be the largest of the three.
