في عامها الأول فقط، تمكّنت “مجموعة إيدج” من دخول قائمة أكبر 25 مصنع سلاح عالمي سنة 2019، باحتلالها المركز 22 بـ 1.3 في المائة من إجمالي مبيعات الأسلحة، في قائمة عرفت هيمنة الشركات الأميركيّة والصينيّة. وذلك وفقًا لأحدث تقرير لمعهد ستوكهولم الدولي لأبحاث السلام (SIPRI).
وبذلك، فإن المجموعة التي تتّخذ من دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة مقراً لها قد عرفت كيف تطرق باب العالمية، في مؤشر جديد يثبت حقيقة أن دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة ودول أخرى في المنطقة تعمل جاهدةً على انتهاج سياسات إنتاجية تصديرية، بعيدة عن سياسة الإستيراد التي طبعت التاريخ الحديث للمنطقة.
وفي معرض تعليقه على البيانات الجديدة الصادرة عن المعهد، قال سعادة فيصل البناي، الرئيس التنفيذي والعضو المنتدب في “إيدج”: “تزامناً مع احتفالاتنا بالذكرى السنوية الأولى لتأسيس مجموعتنا، نفخر بتصنيف “إيدج” كأول شركة في الشرق الأوسط تضاف إلى قائمة أكبر 25 شركة عسكرية على مستوى العالم، وفق تصنيف معهد ستوكهولم الدولي لأبحاث السلام”.
يعتبر بيتر ويزمان، الباحث في معهد ستوكهولم الدولي لأبحاث السلام (سيبري) أن: “إيدج تشكّل مثالاً جيداً عل كيفية الجمع بين الطلب الوطني القوي على المنتجات والخدمات العسكرية مع الرغبة في أن تصبح الإمارات أقل اعتماداً على الموردين الأجانب و هو الدافع خلف نمو شركات الأسلحة في الشرق الأوسط.”
إن مجموعة “إيدج” التي تم تأسيسها في 5 نوفمبر/تشرين الثاني 2019، كمجموعة التكنولوجيا المتقدمة في قطاع الدفاع والتي ترفع شعار “معا نحو مستقبل آمن” قد تمكّنت من تحقيق عائدات تجاوزت 5 مليارات دولار. وبحسب موقع الشركة فقد ولدت باندماج 25 شركة متخصصة بالتكنولوجيا في قطاع الدفاع، يعمل بها نحو 12 ألف موظف ممن يمتلكون خبرات نوعية وفنية في الصناعات الدفاعية.
تختصّ المجموعة في خمسة قطاعات رئيسية هي: المنصات والأنظمة (من خلال شركات نمر، إيرث، الطيف، الجسور، أداسي، أبو ضبي لبناء السفن)، الصواريخ والأسلحة (ممثلة بشركات رماية، لهب، هالكن، كراكال، إيه بي تي، الطارق)، الدفاع السبراني، الحرب الإلكترونية والاستخبارات (ممثلة بشركتي بيكن رد وسيجنال)، دعم المهام (ممثلة بشركات أمرك، جاهزية، هورايزن، جال، إي تي اس، إي بي آي، إي آر اس، نوليج بوينت)
وقد أثبتت بعض الشركات وجودها في مناطق أخرى و تعمل على تنمية بصمتها العالمية بمساعدة ايدج. على سبيل المثال، تمتلك شركة “كاراكال“المتخصصة في الأسلحة الخفيفة شركات بأكملها تابعة لها في ألمانيا والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية. وقد تم اختيار الشركة من قبل وزارة الدفاع الهندية في عام 2018 لتوريد 93,895 بندقية هجومية CAR 816 للجيش الهندي. وقد التزمت الشركة بتصنيع البنادق بالكامل في البلاد ، بما يتماشى مع مبادرة “صنع في الهند”، وستشمل الشراكة أيضا نقل التكنولوجيا.
وفقا للمحللون في الصناعة، فإن إمكانات النمو إيدج هائلة، فعلى الرغم من أن نموها الحالي يرجع بالأساس للطلب المحلي على الأسلحة في المنطقة فقط إلاّ أنها عرفت كيف تصنع لنفسها مكاناً وسط الكبار، وهي المكانة المرشحة للنموّ أكثر في حال تركيزها بشكل أكبر على السّوق الدولية.
يقول فيصل البناي، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة إيدج: “نعمل داخل المجموعة على وضع خارطة طريق متماسكة لتسريع تطوير المنتجات وبناء القدرات البشرية […] لقد حصلنا على موافقة الجهات المعنية في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة بخصوص استراتيجية التطوير التي سنعتمدها على مدى السنوات القادمة من 3 إلى 5 سنوات. نحن لاعب رئيسي محلياً، لكننا نعمل على الحصول على حصتنا من السوق الدولية، سواء من خلال منتجاتنا المحلية أوتلك التي نعمل عليها مع شركائنا”.
للإشارة فإن شركة “إيدج” ستكون حاضرة خلال معرضي الدفاع الدولي (آيدكس 2021) ومعرض الدفاع البحري (نافدكس 2021) كشريك استراتيجي، ومن المزمع تنظيم المعرض في الفترة من 21 إلى 25 فبراير في شركة المعارض الوطنية بأبوظبي (ADNEC) بالتّعاون مع وزارة الدفاع والقيادة العامة للقوات المسلحة الإماراتية.
