Aeronautics Unveils Pegasus120 Multi Rotor VTOL UAS

The operational demand for multi rotor drones brings more Israeli companies to develop advanced versions.

Israeli company Aeronautics joined the effort and unveiled its Pegasus120 multi rotor VTOL UAS.

According to Dany Eshchar, Aeronautics deputy CEO The Pegasus family of VTOL UAS provides an advanced, multi-mission solution for military army units.

He added that the multi rotor drones are excellent platforms for carrying sensors, and providing communications to support intelligence gathering, command and control over wide areas.

“The Pegasus Vertical take-off and landing VTOL UAS, adds a new dimension to Aeronautics growing family of unmanned systems and solutions.”

He added that the Pegasus 120 is designed to operate as an organic aerial platform with the combat echelon. Pegasus is a platform for tactical, ISTAR and C4I applications, including an ‘aerial mast’, carrying a wide array of payloads, including EO/IR and ELINT.”

Eshchar added that the fully autonomous platform, is available in the light configuration or heavy lift configuration, optimized for heavy payloads and provides forward troops with logistical supplies.

MTOW of the Pegasus 120 264 pounds, Max payload is165 pounds, and the VTOL UAS diameter is 6.2 feet.

The maximum speed goes up to 40 kts and the Data Link has a range of up to 9 miles.

Two years ago Elbit systems bought shares of Israeli small company Flying Production that has developed a line of multi rotor drones.

As the demand from Israeli defense forces is increasing, new designs are now in development in all the Israeli UAS manufacturers.
