Air China Cargo has launched its first global digital distribution partnership with cargo.one, allowing freight forwarders in Europe and North America to book cargo capacity online.
Since Aug. 27, users of the platform have been able to obtain quotes, book and track shipments weighing up to 5,000 kilograms, including express cargo, on Air China Cargo services.
Available destinations include Shanghai Pudong, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing and Hangzhou. Additional markets and cargo products will be added in the coming months.
“Launching global digital sales on cargo.one is an important milestone in Air China Cargo’s growth strategy and digitalization journey,” said Lei Wang, the airline’s general manager of sales and marketing.
Wang said the partnership would expand the carrier’s access to freight forwarders worldwide and improve the booking experience.
The platform combines rate comparisons across transport modes with artificial intelligence tools designed to help forwarders prepare quotes and manage bookings, cargo.one said.
Moritz Claussen, cargo.one’s founder and co-CEO, said the agreement would give customers another way to access Air China Cargo’s capacity to and from China.
