Airbus has had a hugely successful week, racking up almost US $21 billion in deals and contracts at the Paris Air Show. Boeing did not announce any deals, as the event commenced just days after the Air India Dreamliner crash that killed 241 people in India.

Of Airbus' $21 billion in deals and contracts, US$14.2 billion were from orders, while US$6.7 billion is currently under memoranda of understanding (MoU). Among the major orders for the European aerospace giant were from Saudi leasing firm AviLease, Japan’s ANA and Poland’s LOT. The company also received an order from VietJet Air for 100 single-aisle A321neo aircraft, with the potential to add another 50 in the future. EgyptAir and Starlux Airlines signed up for the company's wide-body A350s..

Embraer on Wednesday announced 60 firm orders for the E175, along with further options. The defence side of its business also did well at the show, with Lithuania signing a contract for the Embraer KC-390 Millennium. Portugla is receiving its sixth KC-390, with an option for 10 additional aircraft. Embraer subsidiary Eve Air Mobility also ended the event with new orders.
