Airbus Defence and Space (DS) showcased its new-generation, combat-proven transport tanker, which has been selected by 15 nations worldwide, at ADEX 2025.
At its booth, the company showcased the Airbus A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport Plus (MRTT+), the latest A330neo-based version of its aerial refueling and transport aircraft.
Designed to support all types of Air-to-Air Refueling (AAR) operations and long-range deployments, the aircraft can offload up to 70 tonnes (154,000 lbs) of fuel to a wide range of receivers during a one-hour loitering mission at a distance of 1,250 nautical miles (about 2,315 kilometers) from takeoff.
The aircraft can transport up to 45 tonnes (99,000 lbs) of payload, 37 tonnes (82,000 lbs) of cargo, and about 300 personnel. It has a range of up to 8,700nm (16,000km).
The aircraft is scheduled to enter into military conversion at the A330 MRTT Centre in Getafe, Spain, in 2026, with final delivery to customers in 2029. Countries that have ordered the aircraft from Airbus include Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Norway, Belgium, and the Czech Republic, South Korea, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
The Royal Thai Air Force is the most recent customer, and placeed an order last month.
