Airbus is presenting one of its broadest product line-ups at the Farnborough International Airshow, bringing together commercial aircraft, military platforms, helicopters, uncrewed systems and space technologies as the European aerospace group highlights its capabilities across multiple sectors.
The centrepiece of Airbus' flying display is the A350-1000, the manufacturer's flagship long-haul aircraft, which will demonstrate its performance while operating on a 30% blend of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), underlining Airbus' continued focus on lower-emission aviation technologies. The aircraft remains one of the company's key products in the widebody market, combining long-range capability with improved fuel efficiency.
Away from the flying programme, Airbus has assembled a static display that spans both commercial aviation and defence. Among the commercial highlights are the A321XLR, which has opened new long-range opportunities for airlines using a single-aisle aircraft, and the Emirates A350, reflecting the carrier's ongoing fleet modernisation as it expands its next-generation widebody operations.
Defence Focus
Military capabilities also feature prominently in Airbus' exhibition.
The company's defence presence is led by a Royal Air Force A400M Atlas, accompanied by Jackal high-mobility reconnaissance vehicles, showcasing Airbus' role in tactical airlift and military mobility. The display comes as several European nations continue to strengthen cooperation around the A400M programme and explore future multinational fleet initiatives to support regional defence requirements.
Airbus Helicopters will also display the H160, one of its latest rotorcraft, designed for missions ranging from offshore transport and emergency medical services to search and rescue. Featuring advanced aerodynamics and a digital cockpit, the helicopter represents Airbus' latest developments in the medium twin-engine helicopter market.
Future Technologies
Looking beyond conventional aircraft, Airbus is using Farnborough to showcase its growing investment in autonomous systems and space technologies.
Its defence exhibit includes a portfolio of uncrewed aerial systems covering intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions, reflecting the increasing role of autonomous platforms in modern military operations. The display includes the Flexrotor, Aliaca, Capa-X, Bird of Prey, Ravenstorm and U145 systems.
Airbus will also maintain a presence in the show's Space Zone, where it will highlight future space programmes and emerging aerospace technologies alongside briefings on next-generation wing concepts and air power developments.
