Airport Dimensions has opened the Blue Sky Premier International Lounge at Terminal 2 of Juanda International Airport, marking its third collaboration with Blue Sky Group in Indonesia.
The Surabaya facility follows earlier openings at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta and at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport. The Makassar lounge has recorded more than 3,000 five-star reviews on Google since opening in August last year.
Located in the international terminal, the 462 square metres Surabaya lounge can accommodate up to 101 guests. Its design references the city’s identity as “Kota Pahlawan” (City of Heroes), combining warm wood finishes and muted tones with Indonesian elements such as framed batik motifs.
Food and beverage options include a mix of local and international dishes. Live-cooking stations offer made-to-order items including eggs, pasta and noodles, as well as a steamboat option. Local specialities such as Rawon Surabaya are served alongside Blue Sky’s mantau steamed buns. The lounge also provides locally sourced coffee and a full-service bar.
The space is divided into areas intended for both work and leisure. Social seating areas are positioned near the dining section, while quieter zones are available for passengers seeking privacy or a workspace.
Errol McGlothan, President of Airport Dimensions, EMEA & APAC, commented: "Aviation across Southeast Asia is growing rapidly, with secondary cities like Surabaya playing an increasingly important role in international connectivity. That growth brings a diverse mix of travelers - from early regional departures to long-haul connections, business passengers and families - placing new demands on airport experience. Through our work across Indonesia and the wider Asia-Pacific region, we have seen first-hand how expectations are evolving: people want space to reset, quality food, areas to work, and environments that support every type of journey. This lounge reflects that understanding, responding to how people travel today while delivering the consistent global standards international passengers expect."
Sucin Rahayu, Director of PT Bumi Liputan Angkasa, Blue Sky Group, added: "At Blue Sky Group, our mission has always been to showcase the very best of Indonesian hospitality to the world. Opening this international lounge in Surabaya alongside Airport Dimensions is a proud moment for us, as it allows us to blend the grit and heritage of this region with world-class service standards. We have poured our local expertise into every detail - from the batik-inspired interiors to the traditional flavours on our menu - to ensure that every guest, whether local or international, leaves with a genuine connection to East Java and a memorable start to their journey."
The lounge is open to passengers of all airlines and ticket classes. Entry is available to Priority Pass and LoungeKey members. Walk-in access is priced at IDR330,000 per person, subject to availability, with pre-booking options also offered.
The Surabaya opening forms part of Airport Dimensions’ wider expansion in Asia-Pacific. Recent developments include the Kyra Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport, a second Kyra location at the same airport, and the upgraded Rose Business Lounge at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. The company has also announced plans for a new lounge at Noi Bai International Airport.
Airport Dimensions states that it operates more than 85 airport hospitality locations worldwide and partners with over 50 airports and multiple airlines. It is a subsidiary of Collinson.
