AL TAIF, a subsidiary of EDGE Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FNSS to modernise a fleet of infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) for the UAE Armed Forces. The agreement was formalised during the IDEX 2025 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
Rashed Al Kaabi, Chief Executive Officer of AL TAIF, and Kadir Nail Kurt, General Manager and CEO of FNSS, signed the MoU. The collaboration aims to enhance the mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems of the IFVs, improving their operational capabilities and extending their service life.
Commenting on the partnership, Al Kaabi said, “By bringing together FNSS’s extensive expertise in vehicle modernisation and our proven track record in MRO, we are looking to integrate advanced technologies to extend the lifespan and effectiveness of the UAE Armed Forces' armoured fleet, ultimately enhancing their mission readiness and performance.”
Kurt highlighted FNSS’s experience in modernisation programmes for armed forces in Türkiye, the United States, GCC countries, and Southeast Asia. He said, “The capability enhancement and life extension solutions from FNSS deliver substantial upgrades in reliability and durability, extending the vehicles' service life and ensuring they remain effective and relevant assets for modern combat needs.”
The project will be carried out in accordance with internal policies and procedures to align the IFVs with current technological standards, equipping them with advanced capabilities to meet evolving operational requirements.
