Amentum, which was selected earlier this year to provide missile design engineering, programme management and technical integration expertise to advance the UK’s ambition for hypersonic strike capabilities, is showcasing its advanced engineering, technology, and mission support solutions at the biennial airshow.
The company, which has been supporting critical defence programmes for 70 years, has capabilities that strengthen military and sovereign supply chain resiliency in UK. It also supports defence and national security missions in the UK, Europe and North America. Amentum has about 50,000 employees in more than 70 countries, including 6,000 in the UK.
As Industry Mission Partner on Team Hypersonics UK, Amentum holds the lead industry role under the Ministry of Defence’s £1 billion Hypersonic Technologies and Capability Development Framework. Ebeni and Synthetik Applied Technologies UK will collaborate with Amentum on the project.
Amentum provides the engineering and technical expertise behind major defence infrastructure and sustainment programmes, supporting UK naval bases, dockyards and military training environments. It plays a key role in keeping the UK's national deterrent at sea.
Amentum also strengthens allied defence cooperation by connecting expertise, technologies and best practices across allied communities. From the Remote Distribution Center-Ukraine in south-east Poland, the company provides maintenance, repair and technical support for equipment supporting Ukraine’s defence, helping allies maintain operational readiness and sustain critical capabilities.
The UK company played a major role in the F-35 Beddown Programme at RAF Lakenheath for two squadrons of U.S. Air Force F-35s. It also led the refurbishment of Sliač Airbase in Slovakia to enable F-16 beddown for the U.S. Air Force. Another major initiative that Ametntum is part of is the CORVUS programme of the UK Defence Uncrewed Systems Centre, which aims to develop 24-hour tactical persistent surveillance capability for highly contested environments.
