Amongst the several indigenously developed weapon systems being displayed at the ongoing exhibition is the Arab International Optronics (AIO) developed Remote Controlled Weapon Station (RWCS) for .50 Cal machine guns.
“We have developed this RWCS as cost-effective solution for mounting of 0.50 Cal machine guns, which are in widespread use in the region,” a company official says.
The RWCS can be controlled to a radar system for protection of infrastructure and military bases. A camera is used to monitor the target zone and when a target is detected, firing commands can be provided from a computer con- sole. Portable solar cells are provided for charging the two batteries. A 220v current source can also be used when available.
