On display at the ongoing Indo Defence is a mobile army field artillery observer platform using a surveillance system prototype based on a PTTA II unmanned aircraft. The use of a drone for artillery spotting will dramatically enhance the accuracy of long-range fires as well as the ability to respond to or evade counter-battery fire. The PTTA drone features an obstacle avoidance system and has a cruising range of 100 km, Its endurance is 90 minutes. Object detection is enhanced by use of AI algorithms and the camera gimbal has a 30x zoom. The truck mounted drone control centre also features long-range communication systems to keep in contact with higher command
