As air defense challenges grow more complex, the ability to defend a country's air space has become increasingly important. ASELSAN, Türkiye’s leading defense company, provides solutions in this field to the armies of the world, especially the Turkish Armed Forces, by producing complete systems that include the three cornerstones of a complete air defense system; which are weapons, sensors and command control.
ASELSAN, with almost 30 years of experience in air defense, continues the design, development and production of various air defense weapon systems that can be integrated into land, sea and air platforms. It also carries out the modernization of the air defense systems available in the Armed Forces' inventory in line with current needs. It can use various caliber weapons, launch missiles and/or rockets within the scope of air defense projects such as KORKUT Self-Propelled Air Defense Weapon System and HİSAR Low/Medium Altitude Air Defense Missile System.
HİSAR: A Versatile Air Defense Solution
ASELSAN’s HİSAR family consists of two key variants: HİSAR-A, an autonomous short-range air defense missile system, and the HİSAR-O, a medium-range air defense missile system. HİSAR-A system offers an interception range of 15 km, while HİSAR-O extends this range to 25 km. Both systems are engineered to protect against a variety of aerial threats, from fighter aircraft and helicopters to cruise missiles and UAVs. With both mobile and stationary configurations, HİSAR systems provide exceptional flexibility in deployment, allowing them to be adapted for a wide range of tactical situations.
HİSAR-A system is designed to protect mobile units, neutralizing low-altitude aerial threats such as fixed-wing aircraft, rotary-wing aircraft, UAVs, and air-to-surface missiles. HİSAR-A system can distinguish between friendly and hostile targets and performefficiently in both day and night operations and adverse weather. It iscapable of engaging multiple targets simultaneously, an advantage in scenarios with multiple threats and coordinating with higher command structures.
HİSAR-O, on the other hand, is designed for defending critical infrastructure and fixed military installations. This system has an enhanced capability to protect against a range of threats, including fighter jets, helicopters, UAVs, and cruise missiles. HİSAR-O allows for efficient deployment in various combat scenarios andcombines infrared (IIR) and radar-guided missiles to track and intercept multiple targets. It offers precise targeting and highly accurate threat neutralization as it facilitates effective mission planning and coordinated defense operations.
Together, HİSAR-A and HİSAR-O systems form a comprehensive air defense solution that meets both battlefield and strategic defense requirements, ensuring they are essential for any country looking to bolster its air defense capabilities.
KORKUT: Mobile Air Defense for Modern Warfare
Specifically designed for mechanized and mobile units, KORKUT Self Propelled Air Defense Gun System offers a highly effective solution for protecting troops on the move. In modern warfare, where mobility is crucial, KORKUT provides rapid, reliable air defense in dynamic combat situations. System has firing on the move capability with the stabilized and unmanned gun turret. KORKUT Gun System has capability of firing 35 mm Airburst Ammunition in addition to conventional type 35 mm ammunitions. KORKUT Gun System–together with 35 mm Airburst Ammunition- highly improves the effectiveness of ground-based air defense against modern air threats including air-to-ground missiles, cruise missiles and UAVs.
Its recently launched version equipped with 25mm airburst ammunition, is primarily designed against armored land targets, making it an ideal solution for integration onto tactical vehicles. KORKUT 25 mm stands out with its integrability on different land vehicles such as 4x4, 6x6, and 8x8 wheeled or tracked platforms.
