Lufthansa Technik has concluded exclusive time and material agreements for technical support of HGT1700 auxiliary power units (APU) belonging to South Korean carrier Asiana Airlines and Vietnam Airlines.
The HGT1700 APUs are fitted on A350-900 fleets belonging to the two airlines.
Asiana Airlines has chosen a ten-year long-term contract for the support of HGT1700 APUs for its planned fleet of 30 A350-900 aircraft.
Lufthansa Technik will undertake the repairs at workshops located in Hamburg, Germany and the exclusive time and material agreement comes into force from this month.
Vietnam Airlines’ HGT1700 APUs will also be maintained under an exclusive time and material contract, that will cover an eventual fleet of 14 A350-900s.
Lufthansa Technik is the official warranty station and partner of original equipment manufacturer Honeywell for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the HGT1700 APU.
