Asian Debut for Rohde & Schwarz Airborne SDR

: Nov 6, 2018 - : 5:04 pm

Rohde & Schwarz is demonstrating its R&S SDAR software defined airborne radio for the first time in Asia, at Indo Defence 2018. The R&S SDAR next generation airborne radio, combines the advantages of a networked radio with the proven performance of the successful R&S M3AR family of airborne radios. Almost 8000 Rohde & Schwarz airborne SDRs have been integrated on over 70 different airborne platforms till date.

The German technology company is positioning itself as a single-source supplier of integrated solutions for secure communications and radio intelligence at the show. The company is also showcasing its R&S NAVICS integrated naval communications system at the ongoing show, which delivers mission-ready internal and external voice and data communications for all classes of ships.

Rohde & Schwarz’s advanced software defined radios (SDR) make use of the latest generation of SDR/SCA technology, which have already been fielded with the R&S SDTR for vehicle-based tactical communications and the R&S SDHR for highly mobile applications.

Rohde & Schwarz is also promoting a new Electronics Intelligence (ELINT) solution, which has been optimised for detecting, monitoring and analyzing advanced radar signals.

This new system was designed from the outset to handle challenging signal scenarios and has already proven itself in operation, especially in acquiring weak and LPI signals in dense signal environments and analyzing state-of-the-art multifunctional radars with complex signal structures.

The company is also presenting its COMINT/C-ESM solutions at Indo Defence 2018. These radio monitoring systems have been deployed worldwide in land-based mobile and stationary applications and on naval and airborne platforms. The R&S DDF1555 is a man-portable reconnaissance system for outdoor applications, which combines accurate direction finding with wideband monitoring capabilities. The direction finder is an ideal solution for applications that require portable and mobile direction finders for use in outdoor environments.
