French surveillance and security solutions provider ATERMES is returning to IQDEX 2025, held from 19 to 22 April at the Baghdad International Exhibition Centre in Iraq. The company is exhibiting alongside its local partner, Information Systems (IST), marking the second consecutive edition of the event in which both firms have jointly participated.
At the centre of ATERMES’ display is its SURICATE system, an artificial intelligence-driven, multispectral surveillance platform designed for a range of operational environments. New for this year is the system’s full integration with radar capabilities, combining long-range detection with high-resolution optics. The company says this enables enhanced identification of drones, vehicles, and individuals, while AI-driven automation reduces operator workload and facilitates faster threat response.
“ATERMES is dedicated to building meaningful partnerships, sharing knowledge, and delivering state-of-the-art solutions solely tailored to the challenges faced by Iraqi defense and homeland security forces,” said Lionel Thomas, Chairman of ATERMES. “By combining the ‘on-time’ reach of radar detection with SURICATE’s target classification based on intelligent multispectral optics, we deliver a modular, mission-adaptable system ideally suited for Iraq’s complex security landscape.”
Beyond the product showcase, ATERMES says its presence at IQDEX reflects a long-term commitment to the Iraqi market. In collaboration with IST, the company is pursuing initiatives including local assembly, technical training, joint demonstrations, and research and development. These efforts are aimed at strengthening local expertise and building a more self-reliant defence industrial base.
ATERMES sees Iraq as a key regional partner and views the Middle East as an increasingly important defence market. Through collaboration with IST and other local stakeholders, the company aims to support capability development and contribute to Iraq’s wider security and technological objectives.
