Bengaluru based AXISCADES, announced the setting up of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specific customised depot level maintenance services, at the ongoing Aero India air show.
In this regard, the company has inked partnership agreements, with several European OEMs to maintain their equipment in India. These include warranty support, preventive and corrective maintenance, setting up and running regional parts centre and obsolescence management.
“The government’s focus on allocating more defence procurement orders to Indian manufacturers and companies having agreements with global OEMs will create new opportunities for the Indian defence sector, both from a technology and business perspective. This will lead to increased local development of technology and further enable the transfer of technology from global OEMs to Indian manufacturers and engineering services providers and address digitization needs,” says Sudhakar Gande, Vice-President, AXISCADES.
Customised depot level maintenance services are increasingly required to be available as a result of the large inventory of equipment in India that has been supplied by OEMs from abroad.
AXISCADES will handle the logistics of transporting the equipment from the customer’s location, repair, reconditioning and delivery.

Traditionally ‘O’ level maintenance is invariably undertaken by the Indian armed forces, while the responsibility of some of the ‘I’ and ‘D’ level maintenance rests with the OEMs. The customised depot level maintenance services, offered by AXISCADES, will free the OEMs of the burden of maintenance of these equipment in India.
