Azerbaijan and Belarus discussed expanding military and defense technology cooperation during talks at the ADEX 2026 international defense exhibition in Baku, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry said.
Azerbaijani Defense Minister Col. Gen. Zakir Hasanov met with Dmitry Pantus, chairman of Belarus’ State Authority for Military Industry, who was visiting Azerbaijan to attend the event at the Baku Expo Center.
The Report news agency reported the meeting, citing information released by Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry.
The discussions covered prospects for developing military ties and military-technical cooperation between the two countries. The officials also considered opportunities to introduce new-generation technologies and exchange expertise in the defense sector, according to the ministry.
Hasanov and Pantus discussed other issues of mutual interest, though the ministry’s account did not provide further details about those topics or identify specific technologies under consideration.
The meeting was among several held during the sixth Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition, known as ADEX 2026.
The ministry’s account focused on potential areas of cooperation rather than specific projects. It did not identify procurement plans, companies involved in possible joint work or a timetable for further discussions. No new defense contract or formal agreement was announced in the information provided about the meeting between the two officials.
