Azerbaijan’s space agency, Azercosmos, plans to showcase satellite communications, Earth observation and geospatial analysis services at the ADEX 2026 defense exhibition in Baku.
The exhibition runs from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 at the Baku Expo Center. Azercosmos said its display will focus on how satellite imagery and data analysis can support defense and security decisions.
The agency plans to present tools for monitoring borders, maritime areas and infrastructure, including software that analyzes satellite images to identify vehicles, aircraft and vessels. It will also highlight satellite links for communications in remote areas and as backup connections for critical operations.
Azercosmos said it will meet with government agencies, defense organizations and industry representatives during the exhibition to discuss potential cooperation. Its event page does not announce a new contract or identify equipment purchases tied to ADEX 2026.
Recently, Azercosmos developed a thermal vacuum chamber to test small satellites and spacecraft components before launch.
The system, called AITvac 03, simulates the temperature and vacuum conditions hardware may encounter in space. Engineers can use it to assess the performance and reliability of satellite subsystems and other components.
According to Azercosmos, its research and development team designed and built the chamber over eight months and completed the required tests. The agency also developed software to operate and monitor it.
The agency said it developed AITvac 03 with reference to international and European space-testing standards, as well as NASA’s environmental verification guidelines. It expects the chamber to reduce the need to send hardware abroad for testing and to support future satellite projects in Azerbaijan.
Azercosmos also plans to make the facility available for training and research involving universities, students and young engineers. It said it could eventually offer testing services to local and international partners, though it has not announced customers or a date for commercial availability.
