Barzan Holdings which is the backbone of Qatar’s efforts to develop its domestic defence and security industry, is showcasing its growing portfolio of defence platforms at the ongoing show. Rheinmetall Barzan Advanced Technologies (RBAT), a JV with the German technology group Rheinmetall is showcasing its Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) with integrated systems at the ongoing show.
RBAT’s Mission Master family of Autonomous Uncrewed Ground Vehicles (A-UGVs) are designed to support military troops in dangerous missions, difficult terrain, and hostile weather conditions. In addition to being used for reconnaissance and surveillance operations, the Mission Master platforms can be fitted for tactical overwatch, fire support, medical evacuation, CBRN detection, communication relay, and any other type of missions that may require the support of an A-UGV.
On display is the Mission Master UGV in CASEVAC and Surveillance variants. The former is designed to support injured military troops in dangerous missions, difficult terrain, and hostile weather conditions, while the latter is designed to enhance situational awareness, provide early warnings, and identify threats without putting soldiers in direct danger. Each Mission Master vehicle is already networked with the Barzan Command and Control Software. The base Mission Master platform weighs 1200 kg and can achieve a top speed of 30 kmph. It has an endurance of six hours when travelling at speeds of up to 10 kmph.
Barzan Holdings is also displaying a Made-in-Qatar Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) concept at DIMDEX, highlighting indigenous capabilities in maritime surveillance and force protection. The low-profile platform features a remote weapon station and integrated electro-optical sensors, and is designed for unmanned operations in coastal and littoral environments.
