Indian state-owned defence firm Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) is promoting two new Indian torpedoes at the ongoing LIMA.
BDL is offering the Torpedo Advanced Light (TAL) and heavy weight torpedo (Varunastra). The Indian light torpedo is being exported to the Myanmar Navy, which placed orders in 2017.
Deliveries from this order has largely been completed by BDL and a second order is being negotiated for currently. The Indian Navy has also placed substantial orders for TAL. “These torpedoes are now attracting interest from export customers as they are highly cost competitive and very accurate. The Indian Navy is also extremely pleased with the product support being provided by BDL. We are offering TAL to Malaysia,” Gp. Capt B Mathews (Retd) DGM Exports at BDL tells Daily News.
Radha Krishna GM (K-M) at BDL also tells Daily News, that the Varunastra is now being offered for export to countries in the region and the Middle East.
