Israeli defense company BIRD Aerosystems is highlighting its airborne missile protection systems and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) technologies at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, as governments increase investment in aircraft survivability, border security and airborne surveillance.
Headquartered in Herzliya, Israel, BIRD Aerosystems develops and integrates defense solutions for air, land and maritime operations. Founded in 2001, the company was acquired by U.S.-listed Ondas Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ONDS) in 2026.
At Farnborough, BIRD is featuring three core product lines: Airborne Missile Protection Systems (AMPS), Airborne Surveillance, Intelligence and Observation (ASIO) solutions and integrated ground protection systems.
The ASIO platform provides real-time ISR capabilities for maritime surveillance, border security, search-and-rescue, law enforcement and homeland security missions. Built on an open mission management architecture, the system integrates multiple sensors and communications technologies and can be installed on both new and in-service fixed-wing aircraft.
BIRD said the platform is designed to improve situational awareness by delivering real-time intelligence across large operational areas while allowing operators to tailor mission systems to specific operational requirements.
The company's AMPS suite is designed to protect military, government and commercial aircraft against shoulder-fired and other missile threats through integrated threat detection and countermeasure technologies.
In addition to its defense products, BIRD provides engineering, aircraft integration, installation, flight testing and certification services for government and commercial customers.
According to the company, its systems are in service with military and government operators worldwide, including NATO members, United Nations air operations, government agencies, aircraft manufacturers and major defense contractors.
