Blaze Highlights Spider VTOL UAV Capabilities

Our Bureau - : Jul 21, 2022 - : 8:29 am

Blaze is highlighting the capabilities of the new Spider VTOL at the ongoing show.

The Spider VTOL, unveiled at the show, is a mini electrical fixed-wing UAV utilizing a single motor and a single propeller. Blaze, an IMCO Group subsidiary, is a provider of uncrewed/remotely operated vehicles for air, land, and naval applications.

Unlike traditional VTOL UAVs that use dedicated motors, propellers, and structural parts for performing take-off and landing, the Spider VTOL utilizes a single nose-mounted electrical motor and propeller for both VTOL and horizontal flight. This enables it to perform point take-offs and landings in small, congested areas, and to operate in harsh weather conditions, without compromising performance.

The Spider UAV is lightweight and can be deployed, recovered, and packed by a single operator. Due to its flying wing design and belly-mounted payload configuration, the VTOL has an endurance of up to three hours, high survivability, and fast redeployment time. According to company officials, the Spider VTOL can be equipped with various advanced payloads, providing covert real-time day and night intelligence for open and urban areas.
