BOC Aviation has placed five new A330-200 freighters on long term lease to Hainan Airlines. The aircraft, the lessor’s first cargo aircraft from a manufacturer, are scheduled to be delivered in 2012 and 2013 and will be operated by Yangtze River Express Airlines, a subsidiary of the HNA Group.
BOC Aviation says this deal makes it the largest lessor of the A330-200 freighter aircraft into China.
Chen Feng, chairman of HNA Group said: “These aircraft will meet our capacity demands which have been increasing on the back of the global economic recovery. We look forward to continuing our rewarding partnership with BOC Aviation.”
“We have a long and lasting relationship with the HNA Group that dates back to 1998,” said Robert Martin, managing director & chief executive officer of BOC Aviation. “This is our first cargo aircraft order with a manufacturer and we are pleased to further consolidate our presence in the Chinese market by leasing them to Hainan Airlines.”
