Boeing has appointed Wael Zaoud to the newly created role of managing director for Boeing Global in Qatar. This appointment is part of Boeing’s efforts to align more closely with Qatar National Vision 2030.
In his new role, Zaoud will be responsible for developing relationships with the government and other key stakeholders, expanding Boeing's market presence, and strengthening the company’s competitive standing in Qatar. Zaoud will be based in Doha and will report to Kuljit Ghata-Aura, President of Boeing Middle East, Türkiye, Africa, and Central Asia.
"Qatar is an important market for Boeing, and Wael’s 24-year tenure at Boeing - including 13 years in Qatar - offers a wealth of local experience and makes him well-positioned to lead us into the future. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our partnership with Qatar under Wael’s leadership," said Ghata-Aura.
Boeing employs more than 360 people in Qatar, and its presence in the country is continuing to grow. Zaoud will lead the newly formed legal entity, Boeing Aerospace Doha LLC, which focuses on developing local talent, supporting startups, and promoting research, innovation, and sustainability.
“Qatar's strategic focus on inbound tourism, innovation, and technology is creating new growth opportunities for us. I am excited to continue expanding our presence in Qatar in my new role,” Zaoud said.
Zaoud has been with Boeing since 2000 and has held various roles, including serving as an engineer for satellite systems and the C-17 program in the United States. Since 2011, he has been based in Doha, where he led business development for Boeing Defense, Space, and Security, managing sales campaigns for defense products and services in Qatar and Kuwait. Before his role in Qatar, Zaoud contributed to Boeing's defence business development in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
