Boeing, CAAM to Explore Air Traffic Management System Improvements

Our Bureau - : May 26, 2023 - : 6:57 am

Boeing and the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) have inked a Letter of Intent at the ongoing LIMA, in which Boeing will pair its engineering expertise with the Malaysian government’s strategic planning for its air traffic management system. CAAM is the regulatory body responsible to ensure efficient management of the safety and security of Malaysia’s civil aviation industry

As a result of the agreement, both sides will explore initiatives to further enhance the efficiency of the country’s national air traffic management system. Improving airport and flight operations can help increase the safety and sustainability of Malaysia’s aviation system through more efficient movement of aircraft and reduced fuel use.

As Malaysia’s sole technical aviation safety regulator and air navigation service provider, CAAM believes through this collaboration it will significantly benefit stakeholders through the increase of capacity that will accommodate more flights and attract more airlines and in return, support the growth of the aviation industry in Malaysia.

Boeing has helped grow the local aerospace sector, creating jobs and driving innovation through its investments in Malaysia. Boeing’s joint venture in Kedah, Aerospace Composites Malaysia, is a leader in composite products and subassemblies for the aerospace industry, including building components for Boeing airplanes.

The U.S. airframer has two offices in Kuala Lumpur.
