Boeing Gets Contract for Poseidon Support Equipment

: May 9, 2018 - : 7:59 pm

Boeing has received a $21.5 million U.S. Navy contract for ancillary equipment on the P-8A Poseidon aircraft. Work on the contract, which will occur in Missouri and Texas, is expected to be completed by November 2020.

The deal, which was announced recently Monday by the Department of Defense, is valued at more than $21.5 million. The contract, by which Boeing will provide seven special mission pod deployment mechanisms for the P-8A Poseidon aircraft, is a modification to a previous Pentagon award under the terms of a firm-fixed-price-contract.

The Poseidon, an anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare aircraft, is designed to work in conjunction with the MQ-4C Triton, a unmanned aerial vehicle, for maritime patrol operations.
