CAAS Launches Tell Sarah – New Aviation Safety Reporting System

: Jul 28, 2020 - : 9:12 am

Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has launched a new voluntary safety reporting system which aims to encourage the proactive reporting of any aviation safety concerns, safety hazards or unsafe practices by the public or aviation industry personnel. Named Tell Sarah, it will be administered by an independent third party, KPMG Services Pte Ltd.

Tell Sarah aims to help keep aviation safe by uncovering potential safety risks that might otherwise be left undetected. This will allow for the proactive management of such risks through timely and effective mitigating measures. To enhance the protection of safety information received, Tell Sarah reports will be used solely for the purpose of enhancing aviation safety.

Mr Kevin Shum, Director-General of CAAS, said, “Everyone plays a role in improving aviation safety. We can all do our part by proactively reporting safety hazards when we observe them. The reporting of safety hazards is an integral component of Singapore’s State Safety Programme (SSP). The SSP drives a more systematic and holistic approach to safety management, integrating more predictive methodologies to better manage precursor events so that they do not become safety incidents.”

Anyone who sees any potential hazards or encounters any unsafe practices can make a report via the Tell Sarah portal at www.tellsarah-vrs.com or by writing in to tellsarah-vrs@kpmg.com.sg. All reports will be anonymised and kept confidential.
