Collins Aerospace Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp., has signed a long-term nacelle maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) agreement with China Southern Airlines for its fleet of 30 B787 aircraft.
The agreement, commemorated at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai, gives China Southern access to Collins Aerospace’s worldwide nacelle support infrastructure, best-in-class aftermarket service offerings and extensive nacelle MRO capabilities for greater dispatch reliability.
With more than 1.2 million square feet of MRO shop space in total, Collins Aerospace’s Aerostructures business unit has the capacity to deliver high-quality nacelle repair services that are cost-effective and timely for its customers.
Its eight strategic global locations, including Tianjin, China, give worldwide customers unmatched access to services and components. The work for China Southern will be completed at the Tianjin facility, which has over a decade of exemplary customer service.
“We are delighted to welcome China Southern Airlines into our rapidly growing family of long-term customers in China,” said Marc Duvall, president, Aerostructures, Collins Aerospace Systems. “Our Tianjin MRO site already supports 20 different service agreements with multiple airline customers, covering approximately 500 aircraft of various types. We are grateful for the trust China Southern has shown in Collins by choosing us as its preferred provider of nacelle maintenance for its latest flagship aircraft fleet.”
