The ongoing edition of LIMA, features 15 ships from thirteen countries and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy Frigate Yueyang is part of the maritime fleet here that will take part in maritime displays, warship inspection and maritime exercise.
Yueyang (Hull 575) is a Chinese guided-missile frigate and set sail from a Chinese naval port in Sanya, in southern China’s Hainan Province.
“Participating in this event will help strengthen exchanges with the navies of various countries, enhance friendship and mutual trust, and also display the good image of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy as a peace-loving and civilized armed force,” said Tang Yapeng, Commanding Officer of the Yueyang. The PLA Navy celebrates its 70th anniversary next month.
