Click Bond, which is exhibiting at ADEX 2021, has engineered a breakthrough in lightweight aerospace fasteners by introducing the hollow-shank LoMas Screw. The screws, which are available in a variety of lengths, offer up to 48% in weight savings, According to the company, the LoMas Screw also reduces seizing or galling when compared to titanium screws. The screw’s captive washer design reduces part count and foreign object debris (FOD). The deep drawn manufacture produces optimal strength-to-weight properties. LoMas screws utilize A-286 CRES stainless steel with zinc-nickel plating (non-plated available).

“The LoMas Screw includes a dual drive design for ease of installation and the standard size dimensions lend these screws to straight-forward retrofits,” said Chris Howard, Marketing Analyst for Click Bond. “These fasteners are designed for non-structural systems routing and attachment, such as wiring, cables, instrument panels, access covers, sensors, lighting, and more.” The LoMas Screw provides optimal flexibility in any design where weight is a factor, including aerospace systems applications, whether military, commercial, space, or AAM (Advanced Air Mobility).“These hollow-shank fasteners have tremendous opportunity in the commercial marine and yachting industries as well. Removing so much weight from systems routing lightens up the entire craft adding to fuel economy and speed potential,” added Howard. Click Bond, which has been serving the aerospace industry since 1987, supports companies in the design and manufacture of high-performance platforms and systems.
