Cobham has announced that Airbus has selected its Radio Management System for the 20 Airbus H145M helicopters that the Hungarian Ministry of Defence has ordered.

The Radio Management System (RMS) is an intuitive device permitting quick access and control of civil, tactical and military radios providing navigation, communication and identification. It has a dynamic, configurable display, software data loading function and modular design matching the demanding requirements of the H145M’s multi-role capabilities, and greatly reducing pilot workload.

The company’s RMS is now an element of the advanced digital avionics suite integrating tactical and mission radios across a range of military tasks, including troop transport, utility, surveillance, air rescue, armed reconnaissance, and medical evacuation.

“Our Radio Management System is the most easily-customised controller display unit available, perfectly suited for line-fit and retrofit programmes for helicopters, trainers and mission aircraft, and popular for its compatibility with most radios that use ARINC429, RS422, RS485 and MIL-STD-1553,” said Eiji Kawaishi, Senior Vice President of Cobham Aerospace Communications.
