Controp Precision Technologies , a company specializing in the field of Electro-Optics (EO) and InfraRed (IR) defense and homeland security solutions, is highlighting the merits of Tornado-ER, its comprehensive coastal surveillance and protection system, at Euronaval 2020.
An advanced IR system designed to automatically detect and acquire land and maritime targets, Tornado-ER can also be used for maritime traffic control, particularly in dense waters. The system is capable of providing a 360 panoramic infrared (IR) image that gets updated every three seconds with automatic and simultaneous detection of any moving targets in the water.
The Tornado-ER, which uses highly sensitive sensors and advanced Real-time video algorithms, features two thermal imaging IR cameras. It is passive and insensitive to RF jamming. It can be used as a standalone system or integrated with complimentary systems to provide operators with improved situational awareness.
According to the company, the system has been designed for coastal and maritime wide area surveillance, coastal protection and maritime traffic control. The system is capable of detecting a small boat of 3×1 meters at a distance of 5 nm and more.
