DCNS Exhibits at FIDAE 2014

: Apr 1, 2014 - : 7:09 am

Leading naval defence and innovator in energy, DCNS is showcasing its range to the world’s Navies at FIDAE 2014 in Chile.

The DCNS presence is also the opportunity to show its involvement in marine renewable energy, a fast-growing sector in Chile.

Partner of the Chilean Navy for a number of years, DCNS opened a representation office in Santiago two years ago to maintain a preferential link with the Navy and meet its requirements. Chile is one of the first countries to have chosen the Scorpène class submarine, in late 1997. Less than a decade later the Navy was operating two submarines adapted to its needs and fitted with the very latest cutting-edge technologies.

DCNS is already established in Latin America, Chile and Brazil having chosen the DCNS group to upgrade and renew their submarine fleets. Setting up local partnerships also contributes to the success of these programs, for example through cooperation agreements and transfers of technology. Building on its successes, DCNS intends to pursue the development of its activities and put its broad experience in naval programs at the service of the Navies.

DCNS offers a complete range of products and services adapted to the needs of the Navies. The work of DCNS includes the design, production and maintenance of the products proposed to the customers. The group offers its customers submarines such as the Scorpène class and surface ships such as the Gowind OPV and corvette range and the FREMM multimission frigates. DCNS is also an innovator in energy, supplying turnkey solutions in this field.

DCNS believes that the sea is central to the planet’s future. As a world leader in naval defence and an innovator in the energy sector, the Group is developing advanced technology and solutions to secure the future and sustainably develop the planet’s potential. Its leadership is built on a proven ability to meet customer needs by combining exceptional know-how with unique industrial resources. DCNS designs and builds submarines and surface combatants, develops associated systems and infrastructure, and offers a full range of services to naval bases and shipyards. The group has also expanded its focus into civil nuclear energy and marine renewable energy.
