The organisers of the Defence & Security 2021 defence exhibition to be held later this year in Bangkok, Thailand have announced the postponement of the show to 2022.
“Following consultations between the Organising Committee, the Thai Ministry of Defense, Thai Armed Forces, Partners, and Supporters; a decision has been taken to reschedule the Defence & Security 2021 show, which was scheduled to be held on 1-4 November 2021 at IMPACT Exhibition Centre, Bangkok, Thailand, to 29 August – 1 September 2022 at Challenger 1 – 2, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani,” the organisers said in a release.
The Thai Government has imposed a number of restrictions including the temporary closure of public venues and also continued to keep travel restrictions imposed earlier in place due to concern over the rising number of daily infected COVID-19 cases in Thailand.
The decision by the organisers to host the show in 2022, is based on their expectation that international trade and business are expected to return next year. The regional biennial tri-service event features exhibitors covering Land, Sea & Air military products plus Internal Security
“The prioritized concern being to create a safe and secure business environment for all participants. By rescheduling the event to 2022, the show will able to offer true value to all participants including those from quality local and oversea trade visitors, key decision makers, and official delegations,” the organisers said.
Defence & Security 2021 was expected to host more than 550 world leading companies from 50 countries, including 30 international group pavilions. Over 21,000 trade professionals from 60 countries including 400 official delegations and key decision makers from all over Asia were expected to attend the show.
Defence & Security 2021 is one among several defence exhibitions that have had to be deferred due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases over the course of this year.
