The ninth edition of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) will take place from 19 to 22 January 2026 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), under the patronage of Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar. Organised by the Qatar Armed Forces, the event is expected to attract naval leaders, defence officials, and industry representatives from around the world.
This edition of DIMDEX introduces a four-day format for the first time, aiming to expand the scope of strategic dialogue and business engagement within the maritime defence sector. Held under the theme “A Global Hub for Defence Innovations: Invest in Possibilities to Shape a Secure Tomorrow”, the event is positioned as a platform to promote innovation, long-term investment in maritime technologies, and the advancement of a secure and sustainable maritime domain.
Staff Brigadier (Sea) Abdulbaqi Saleh Al-Ansari, Chairman of the DIMDEX Organising Committee, said:
“We are honoured to host the ninth edition of DIMDEX as a four-day event. Our theme, ‘A Global Hub for Defence Innovations,’ reflects our commitment to offering a vital platform for the international maritime defence and security community to connect, collaborate, and invest in innovations that will define the future of global security.”
DIMDEX 2026 will feature four core components:
According to organisers, the previous edition of DIMDEX saw a record attendance of 25,000 visitors. An even larger turnout is anticipated in 2026, with participation expected from a broad range of local and international exhibitors and high-level delegations.
Since its launch, DIMDEX has served as a key venue for showcasing defence technologies and fostering dialogue on maritime security. The event also contributes to Qatar’s economic development and supports the goals outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030 by drawing international attention and investment to the country’s security and defence sectors.
