DIMOS has expanded its pallet mover range for airport logistics, introducing two new models equipped with integrated scales and lift tables. These additions aim to improve efficiency and flexibility in handling unit load devices (ULDs) across airport terminals, from landside to airside operations.
ULD handling at airports requires high flexibility and efficiency due to the need to quickly and safely transport large volumes of baggage and freight in confined spaces. DIMOS, a machine manufacturer based in Petersberg, has built upon its existing pallet mover model to offer new variants that extend the range of applications. The standard model, which features a crosswise seat cabin and 360° steering, remains unchanged and serves as the foundation for development. With a load capacity of up to seven tonnes, it can lift ULDs to a height of 508 mm for transfer to dollies. In the new versions, the characteristic three-fork design has been replaced to support additional applications.
The first new variant incorporates a built-in scale, allowing ULDs to be weighed immediately upon collection without the need for a separate weighing system. "Pallet movers are the workhorses of internal logistics, especially at airports," said Pascal Schütz, Managing Director at DIMOS. "In addition to purely transporting units, the flexible and mobile upgraded models enable users to carry out vital work steps." By integrating weighing functionality into the vehicle, this model reduces travel distances, minimises wear and tear, and extends the machine’s service life.
The second variant features an integrated scissor lift table, addressing space limitations at airports where most lift tables are stationary. This mobile lift table allows the pallet mover to function as a flexible workstation, particularly during peak periods. With a lift height of up to 1.60 metres and an optional roller deck, it can also be used as a truck dock for loading and unloading. The ability to operate in confined spaces makes mobility a key advantage of this model.
DIMOS' pallet mover range is designed to integrate multiple logistics processes into a single vehicle, offering a versatile solution for ULD handling across different areas of an airport. The models can be individually configured to meet specific operational needs, including adjustments to drive and lift height.
