The 9th edition of Defence & Security is underway with a strong focus on indigenisation and building lasting defence partnerships. Participation is especially strong this year as a result of Thailand’s healthy defence budget and growing intent to modernise its armed forces. Thailand’s growing indigenous defence industry is also on show with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and Defence Technology Institute (DTI) showcasing a wide range of weapons systems and technologies.
According to the organisers, more than 500 companies are taking part this year, with 28 national pavilions. Turkey has the largest presence at the show with 32 companies taking part.
