Dubai Air Navigation Services Corporation (Dans), the leading organization responsible for air traffic management at Dubai and Northern Emirates airports, has renewed the joint cooperation agreement with the global general services company “Serco Middle East” for an additional two years ending in January 2024.
The agreement was signed by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, President of Dubai Air Navigation Services Corporation, Supreme President and CEO of Emirates Airlines and the Group, with CEO of Serco Middle East, Phil Malm.
Commenting on the renewal of the agreement, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said: “(Dans) continues its efforts to provide unparalleled services to its customers, in line with its strategic plans to enhance its technical capabilities and permanently improve the performance of its human resources according to the highest standards of security and safety, to ensure the superiority of the quality of services that it provides. It is provided to air transport through Dubai and UAE airports.”
His Highness added: “The creative initiatives taken by Dubai have contributed to accelerating the recovery phase of the international civil aviation sector, and this necessitates the (Dans) Corporation, being the main operator of air traffic at the largest airport in the world in the number of international passengers, to continue its professional role to stay ahead and ensure its readiness. To keep pace with the expected significant growth in the number of passengers in the coming period.”
His Highness praised the renewal of the joint cooperation agreement with Serco, noting that it will contribute to enhancing the levels of service provided by the Dubai Air Navigation Services Corporation at Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport, ensuring superior operational efficiency in accordance with the latest technologies and international standards, and foreseeing the future of the air traffic management sector around the world.
The Dubai Air Navigation Services Corporation is one of the main contributors to supporting business growth in Dubai in particular and in the aviation sector in general, through its dealings with more than 92 international air carriers at the present time, by linking the world with more than 290 major destinations and cities around the world.
For his part, Mohammed Abdullah Ahli, Director General of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Managing Director of Dubai Air Navigation Services Corporation, said: “Our relationship is historic with (Serco), and the renewal of the agreement is based on our great confidence in the company’s capabilities and the multiple achievements we have achieved together over the past years.”
Ahli added: “The operations of managing flights are characterized by a lot of complexity, so attracting the finest technologies and air navigation systems and enhancing our human capabilities is an essential part of our strategy to keep pace with the amazing development witnessed by the air transport sector and the aircraft industry.”
It is noteworthy that the Dubai Air Navigation Services Corporation played a key role in maintaining the supply chain of essential and non-essential goods between Dubai and the rest of the world during the pandemic period, by working around the clock to provide its services to national and international carriers that were running their flights to serve millions of people around the world.
