UAE’s EDGE Group and Qatar’s Barzan Holdings have agreed to establish a strategic joint venture in Qatar. The agreement was formalised during a signing ceremony held on the opening day of the show. The agreement is aimed at the collaborative development of advanced defence technologies and will strengthen long-term industrial cooperation between the two countries.
According to the companies, the joint venture will focus on the co-development of defence technologies aligned with evolving national security requirements. It will also support the growth of sustainable industrial capabilities in both the UAE and Qatar.
The partnership is intended to combine complementary strengths across technical expertise, operational experience and industrial capacity, enabling a more integrated approach to the development and delivery of defence solutions. Both parties described the joint venture as a step towards deeper industrial collaboration and closer alignment between their respective defence ecosystems.
The agreement reflects a broader trend across the Gulf region towards sovereign capability development, industrial partnerships and long-term collaboration, rather than transactional procurement models.
