Preparations are progressing smoothly for the second edition of Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX 2021), which will take place from Nov. 29-Dec. 2 at Egypt International Exhibition Center.
The event, to be held under the auspices of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, is supported by the Egyptian Armed Forces.
More than 400 exhibitors from around the world will showcase the latest defence and military technologies across land, sea and air at the event. Numerous military delegations and more than 30,000 industry visitors are expected to attend the exhibition that will offer an opportunity for commericial partnerships and knowledge exchange between professionals in the defense and military industries.
“We look forward to welcoming the international defence industry to Egypt," said General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production. "We expect the expo to grow even more in size and impact than the first overwhelmingly successful edition. The Armed Force’s General Command will follow all the precautionary measures during the expo in order to ensure the safety of all our visitors.”
The expo would open new horizons of cooperation between Egypt and countries from around the world in the field of military industries, added the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. “EDEX has become an influential international pivot to showcase the latest in military, defense and technological industries in the world.”
The second edition is witnessing an enthusiastic response from companies, and confirmations and reservations of spaces have already trumped the first edition by a significant margin. Several major international manufacturers of military equipment, including Fincantieri, MBDA, Lockheed Martin, Dassault Aviation, Naval Group, Hensoldt and esri North Africa, have come on board as sponsors of EDEX 2021, i.
“EDEX has become a key hub for the biggest players in the defense and armaments industry around the world," said Thomas Gaunt, Managing Director, Clarion Defence & Security MEA. "We are eager to host this event along with the Egyptian Minister of Defense and Military Production.”
